Waste Management will resume all commercial and residential routes effective Monday, September 4, subject to accessibility.
Waste Management is experiencing high volumes of waste in all areas affected by Harvey. Because of the ongoing heavy volume of household garbage, some routes may not be completed on the designated day. In those cases, Waste Management will make an attempt collect any remaining household garbage from the previous day, starting the following morning.
(September 2, 2017) – The City of Orange has issued a curfew, effective immediately, from 8 P.M. to 6 A.M. until further notice.
(September 2, 2017) – The City of Orange will begin picking up damaged debris as soon as possible in areas within the City where homes were affected by the recent flooding due to Tropical Storm Harvey and flooding from the Sabine River.
Any flood related materials that citizens may want removed from the area must be separated into four distinct categories. FEMA requirements for separation of debris and damaged material are as follows:
- C&D Piles- construction and demolition materials
- Green Waste Piles- tree limbs, branches and cuttings
- White Goods- refrigerators, stoves, washers, dryers, freezers, etc.
- Hazardous Waste- paints, household chemicals, etc.
The City of Orange Office of Emergency Management would like to remind the citizens of Orange that all debris to be removed must be separated into their proper piles and placed curbside.
**PLEASE DO NOT PLACE DEBRIS IN THE STREET WHICH WILL AFFECT EMERGENCY RESPONSE AND THE RESTORATION OF POWER TO ALL HOMES.

(September 2, 2017) – Due to the rise at the Sabine River, City officials have issued a voluntary evacuation for areas south of the interstate, east of the railroad tracks (from the railroad tracks to the Sabine River) in the City of Orange. In addition, the following areas may be impacted by the rising water; low lying areas such as Cove and north of the interstate, east of highway 87 and other areas which may have standing water.
Those who wish to evacuate may go to Northway Shopping Center for bus transportation to Burton Coliseum, located at 7061Gulf Way Dr., Lake Charles, LA.
