The City of Orange Animal Control Department operates under the supervision of the Orange Fire Department. The Animal Shelter is located at:

8:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Because the shelter employs only two full-time officers, it sometimes closes without notice so the officers may handle emergency situations. The shelter will reopen once the emergency situation has been resolved. If there is a problem in your area, please call the shelter at 409.883.1056. Spaying and Neutering
Texas State Law now requires the shelter to spay/neuter all animals before they leave the shelter. State Law also requires that all animals ages four months or older have a current rabies vaccination administered by a licensed veterinarian.
The total adoption fee for both dogs and cats is $87.00 and includes neutering/spaying and rabies vaccination.
Vaccinations and Boarding
The vaccination fee is $17.00, and the boarding fee is $6.00 per day.
When an animal is in quarantine, there will be a fee of $86.00. This fee includes boarding and a rabies vaccination. If the animal is not picked up by its owner after 10 days, boarding is $6.00 per day.
The impound fee is $10.00 per offense, escalating an additional $10 per offense up to a maximum of $30 per offense for multiple offenses involving the same animal within a 12-month period.
